Revised Medium Term Financial Plan 2018/19 To 2021/22 - Update February 2018 PDF 211 KB To consider report of the Chief Executive Additional documents: Minutes: A Member enquired if notification had been received from the Police in relation to the Precept figure.
Steve Jones advised that notification had been received in relation to the Precept and it was an increase of 7% for the next financial year.
A Member then recommended that the Council debate this increase and also referred to the issue of Community and Neighbourhood Policing.
Another Member then recommended that the Police Superintendent be invited to address the Council in relation to Community Policing.
Resolved that:
(a) The implications of the Final Local Government Settlement for 2018/19 outlined in Section 5 of the report and Appendices 1 to 3 be noted and accepted (b) The Service Budget Reductions (Already Approved) outlined in Section 6 of the report and Appendix 4 be noted (c) The Cabinet recommended Service Budget Reductions (Not Requiring Business Cases) outlined in Section 6 of the report and Appendix 5 be approved (d) The Cabinet recommended Additional Budget Demands outlined in Section 7 of the report be approved (e) The Cabinet recommended Additional Corporate Budget Reductions outlined in Section 8 of the report be approved

Driving On Council Business PDF 1 MB To consider report of the Chief Executive Additional documents: Minutes: Councillor A Barry led the Members in detail through the ‘Driving on Council Business’ report.
Arising on the report a Member enquired how many staff drove Council vehicles and how many employees drove their own vehicles for work purposes.
Mick Campbell advised that he would supply the Members with these figures.
Questions were also raised in relation to Staff Health and Training and were responded to by the Officers.
Resolved that:

(a) A voluntary ban of the release of sky lanterns and balloons from Council owned land and property be approved with immediate effect (b) A Corporate instruction be issued to all building managers within the Council advising of the ban (c) An instruction be sent to all council tenants advising of the ban (d) The ban will apply to events on Council owned land and property hosted by the Council and/or third parties (e) The ban will also apply to the sale of sky lanterns from Council owned land and property |
