Councillor L Mytton led the Council in detail through the ‘Annual Performance Report 2020-21’.

 

A Member then referred to the following errors in the report:

 

·         Measuring Well-being – 2019-2020 should read 2020-2021

·         Case Study – New Lease of Life – ‘Pole’ should read ‘Poll’

 

These corrections were accepted.

 

Resolved subject to the foregoing that:

Councillor M Jones having Declared her Interest in this item left the Meeting for the consideration of this item.

 

Councillor L Mytton led the Council in detail through the ‘Capacity Exercise – Phase 2’ report.

 

A Member referred to a correction in relation to:

 

·         Appendix 1- ‘Principle’ should  read ‘Principal’

·         Paragraph 3.10 – Should read ‘September’ not ‘October’

 

These corrections were accepted.

 

Tributes were then paid to Sue Gow for her work with the Authority and best wishes were extended to Sue Gow on her Retirement.

 

Resolved subject to the foregoing that:

 

(a)  The proposed investment requirements detailed in Schedule 1 Part A in Appendix 1 be approved

(b)  The detail outlined in Schedule 1 Part B in Appendix 1 be noted

(c)  The proposed Housing Structure in Appendix 2 be approved

Councillor A Barry led the Council in detail through the ‘Tech Scheme (Merthyr Tydfil Rewards)’ report.

 

Questions were raised on the report by the Members with a Member asking how much the employees contribution would be paid into the Pension Scheme and Steve Jones advised that he would need to make the calculation and come back to Councillors on this.

 

Another Member then enquired if staff and Councillors could be advised of what schemes were available and Fran Donnelly advised that she would circulate a link to the Councillors giving details of what schemes staff could access.

 

Resolved that:

 

The introduction of the Tech Scheme administered by ICOM Rewards be approved.

Councillor A Barry led the Council in detail through the ‘2023 Review of Parliamentary Constituencies – Initial Proposals’ report and recommended in relation to Paragraph 2.2 that ‘submissions be received by 28 October 2021’ be added.

 

Resolved subject to the foregoing that:

 

(a)  The Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales Initial Proposals report for the 2023 Review of Parliamentary Constituencies in Wales be noted

(b)  The Council considers the recommendations contained within the initial report and the Leaders of each Political Group and the Independent Members provide comments to the Democratic Services Department by the 28 October 2021 for collation and return to the Boundary Commission for Wales.
