To consider report of the Director of Education

Resolved that: 

2.1 The information contained within the Consultation Report (Appendix 2), be noted.  

2.2 The establishment of a Welsh Medium Learning Resources Base at Ysgol Rhyd y Grug be approved.  

2.3 The issuing of the appropriate Statutory Notice, in accordance with the School Organisation Code 011/2018, be approved. 

To consider report of the Deputy Chief Executive

Resolved that: 

2.1 A new fee of £255 for a re-rating inspection commencing from 1st October 2024, be approved. 

2.2 The giving of delegated authority to the Head of Public Protection to review and amend, if necessary, re-rating inspection changes in line with recommendations from the All Wales Food Safety Technical Panel, be approved.

Resolved that: 

2.1 The giving of delegated authority to the Head of Public Protection to introduce fees relating to the licensing of special procedures in line with the recommendations of Public Protection Wales be approved.  

2.2 The giving of delegated authority to the Head of Public Protection to review and amend, if necessary, licence fees relating to special procedures in line with recommendations from Public Protection Wales, be approved.

The Chair noted that this was the last Cabinet Meeting as an Independent Group and invited Cabinet Members to address the Committee.

Councillors A Barry, D Hughes and M Symonds expressed how it’s been a great privilege to serve the residents and communities of Merthyr Tydfil, highlighting the work done during their time as Cabinet Members. 

Councillors A Barry, D Hughes and M Symonds continued by thanking their families, Officers and Members of Staff for their support.

The Chair then thanked Councillors M Jones and J Jenkins for their work as Cabinet Members.
