Minutes:

Councillor Malcom Colbran declared an interest in relation to item 3 (P/17/0368) as several residents of Station Terrace occasionally use his Post Office.  As they are not personal friends he advised the Committee that he will be speaking and voting on this item.

To consider report of the Deputy Chief Executive

Minutes:

Erection of five dwellings with associated landscaping and access road (phase 1 of planning permission P/14/0130).

 

The Planning Officer introduced the item and led the Committee through the powerpoint presentation in relation to the application.

 

The following questions were raised by the Committee and were responded to by the Planning Officers:

 

·         The width of access between Llys Y Fran and the edge of the railway line.

 

·         This area being promoted as a safe walking route for children to School. 

 

·         Has an assessment been carried out on the stability of the ground?

 

·         Is the footpath part of the existing Rights of Way?

 

·         Clarification if there are pavements for pedestrians within the estate.

 

·         Design features and landscaping of the application.

 

·         The increase of traffic when other phases are built and what are the total number of houses?

 

·         Access arrangements that have previously been granted. 

 

·         Drainage issues on the site.

 

With the use of heavy construction vehicles to the site, Councillor Colbran expressed a safety concern as this area has been promoted as a safe walking route for children to School. 

 

After consideration by the Committee, it was RESOLVED that:

 

In accordance with the recommendation of the Head of Town Planning and Countryside, the reserved matters be approved.
