Apologies for absence received from Councillor Clive Jones, Councillor Allan Jones and Councillor Bill Smith.

Declarations of Interest

Members of the Planning and Regulatory Fact Finding Visits are reminded of their personal responsibility to declare any personal and prejudicial interest in respect of matters contained in this agenda in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act 2000, the Council’s Constitution and the Members Code of Conduct.

 

Note:

 

a.    Members are reminded that they must identify the item number and subject matter that their interest relates to and signify the nature of the personal interest; and

 

b.    Where Members withdraw from a meeting as a consequence of the disclosure of a prejudicial interest they must notify the Chair when they leave.

To consider a report of the Corporate Director (Place and Transformation).

Minutes:

The Chair formally opened the meeting and referred to the Council’s Constitution whereby the public in attendance are unable to address the meeting.

 

He further advised that this meeting was requested by the Planning and Regulatory Committee of the 16th September 2015 to give the Members an opportunity to inspect the site and ask questions.

 

David James, the Councils Planning officer, referred to the application which seeks planning for the erection of a dwelling as outlined in the report.

 

Questions were raised in relation to:

 

·         The orientation of the proposed dwelling

·         The number of parking spaces included in the application

·         Highway and pedestrian safety

·         How is the current application to be approved when others were refused

·         Is there the possibility of further applications on the land/area

 

 

Dowlais Ward Councillors Phil Williams, Tom Lewis and Ray Thomas made representations on behalf of the constituents in relation to the Highways and parking issues in the surrounding area.

Any other business as deemed urgent by the Chair

Minutes:

The Chair advised that there was no business deemed urgent and closed the meeting by thanking everybody for their attendance.
