Declarations of Interest
Members are reminded of their personal responsibility to declare any personal and prejudicial interest in respect of matters contained in this agenda in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government and Finance Act 1992 relating to Council Tax, the Local Government Act 2000, the Council’s Constitution and the Members Code of Conduct
(a) Members are reminded that they must identify the item number and subject matter that their interest relates to and signify the nature of the personal interest and
(b) Where Members withdraw from a Meeting as a consequence of the disclosure of a prejudicial interest they must notify the Chair when they leave

To consider report of the Interim Chief Executive
The Chair referred the Committee to the ‘Highways Act 1980 – Section 26’ report.
Cheryl Jones then led the Committee through the report.
The following questions were then raised by the Committee:
· Request to see a Plan of the exact route
· The need to be clear in relation to the Bridleway
· How could members of the public access the area without problems
· Where could members of the public park vehicles
· Letter sent from the Merthyr Tydfil Heritage Trust
· West Merthyr Public Inquiry
· Ownership of the land
· Paragraph 3.8 – Further explanation requested
· Surface of the Bridleway – Safety and convenience for anyone to be able to use
Detailed responses were then given by the Officers in relation to the questions raised.
After consideration it was
(a) An Order(s) be made under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980 to create a Bridleway from the Taff Trail, Upper Abercanaid to the entrance to the Abernant Tunnel, shown by a bold broken line and dashed A – B and C – D on the Plan attached to the report
(b) That in the event of no objections being received, the Order(s) be confirmed and in the event of objections being received the Order be sent to the Planning Inspectorate for determination.

The Chair advised that there was no business deemed urgent.
