Cabinet is responsible for any functions that are not the responsibility of Full Council, and it works to a Forward Plan.
Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council’s Cabinet is made up of five councillors including the Leader. It is the Leader’s responsibility to select the Cabinet members, and give each one of them a portfolio of responsibility for a particular service area.
